Who we are

EcoPulse Technologies, Lagos, Nigeria. We are the data controller for everything described here, and we handle it under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

What we collect

When you place an order:

• your name, phone number and email address
• the delivery address, and the state and LGA it is in
• what you bought, what you paid, and when
• any note you leave us about the delivery

If you sign in, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.

We also keep ordinary web records - the pages you looked at, your approximate location from your IP address, and which device you used.

What we never hold

Your card details. Payments run through Paystack, and the card number, expiry and CVV go straight to them. They never pass through our systems and we could not retrieve them if we wanted to.

Why we hold it

• To take, deliver and support your order; this is the contract between us.
• To keep accounting and tax records, which Nigerian law requires us to keep.
• To improve the shop, using aggregate figures rather than anything about you personally.
• To send you order emails. These are part of the order, not marketing, and they cannot be switched off while an order is live.

Who else sees it

Only the companies that make the shop work, and only what each of them needs:

• Paystack - to take the payment
• Resend - to send order emails
• Google - sign-in, if you use it
• Vercel, Neon and Cloudinary - hosting, the database, and product images
• our delivery partners and installation engineers - your name, address and phone, so they can find you

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising.

How long we keep it

Order records for 7 years, because tax law requires it. An account and its history for as long as you keep the account. Web analytics for 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will answer within 30 days.

Deletion has one limit: we cannot delete an order record we are legally required to keep. We can remove everything that is not part of that record.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Cookies

We use a small number and none of them are for advertising: one to keep you signed in, one to remember your basket before you have signed in, and analytics that tell us which pages are used. Blocking them in your browser will break the basket, and nothing else.
